Detailed Description
DL-Methionine, also known as methionine, is an essential amino acid that, when added to animal feed, enhances nutrient absorption and promotes rapid growth in animals over a short period. It is also an indispensable amino acid for ruminant livestock and poultry, primarily playing a key role in protein synthesis—since the proteins in animal products ultimately derive from the proteins in their feed. As a vital additive, methionine serves both as a protein feed enhancer and a nutritional supplement that helps balance amino acid levels. Feeds fortified with methionine can significantly accelerate the growth of ruminant livestock and poultry within a relatively brief timeframe. Conversely, methionine deficiency in these animals often leads to stunted development, weight loss, weakened liver and kidney function, muscle atrophy, and deteriorating coat quality.
