Applications of Guanidinoacetic Acid in the Feed Industry
As a seasoned sales consultant in the feed industry, I wholeheartedly recommend guanidinoacetic acid—a highly effective nutritional enhancer. As a precursor to creatine, it markedly boosts energy metabolism in animals and promotes muscle protein synthesis, increasing daily weight gain in livestock and poultry by 7%–15% and accelerating growth rates in fish and shrimp by over 8%. When used during the 50–100 kg finishing phase of pigs, it can reduce the feed-to-meat ratio by 0.2, shorten the time to market by 7–10 days, and save approximately 15 kg of feed per animal. Even more importantly, it improves meat color, reduces drip loss, and enhances product value. Currently, both the European Union and China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs have approved it as a safe feed additive, making it an ideal alternative to certain high‑cost amino acids.
