Detailed Description
Corn protein powder is produced by processing corn kernels through a wet-milling process to create coarse corn starch slurry, which is then hydrolyzed, separated, concentrated, fermented, and finally dried. It appears as a golden-yellow powder or fine granules. Primarily composed of corn protein, it contains small amounts of starch and fiber. The soluble proteins remain in a dissolved state within the pig's gastrointestinal tract, making them easily absorbed and utilized by the animal. In corn protein powder products, more than 48% consists of soluble proteins, with gliadin accounting for up to 45% of these, while around 3% are water-soluble proteins. Corn protein powder is a commonly added ingredient in feed formulations for pigs, poultry, ruminants, and aquatic animals.
