Effectiveness:
1. Significantly lowers gastrointestinal pH, promotes digestion and absorption: reduces the acid production burden in the stomach and intestines, enhancing food digestion and absorption efficiency. Meanwhile, the acidic environment effectively inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria such as Escherichia coli and promotes the proliferation of beneficial bacteria like lactobacilli, thereby reducing diarrhea in piglets and other farm animals.
2. Improves eggshell quality: studies show that adding 0.5% calcium formate to feed does not affect laying hen performance but significantly improves eggshell quality, reducing breakage and soft shell rates.
3. Enhances production performance and health status: improves piglet production performance, stimulates appetite, and reduces diarrhea rates. Adding calcium formate to piglet feed increases calcium source digestibility; adding it to sow feed helps prevent postpartum paralysis; adding it to aquatic feed effectively prevents issues like shell shedding difficulties.
