Case Details
Feed Emulsifier
Feed emulsifiers are a class of functional additives that reduce the interfacial tension between the oil and water phases in feed, promote the dispersion of fats into tiny oil droplets, and help form stable emulsions. They are widely used in the production of compound feeds for livestock, poultry, and aquaculture, and serve as a key ingredient for overcoming the challenges associated with the digestion and absorption of high-fat diets.

Detailed Description
Feed emulsifiers are functional additives that reduce the interfacial tension between the oil and water phases in feed, enabling fats and oils to disperse into tiny droplets and form stable emulsions. They are widely used in the production of compound feeds for livestock, poultry, and aquaculture, serving as a key ingredient for overcoming the challenges associated with the digestion and absorption of high-fat diets. The core mechanism of their action lies in their molecular structure, which features hydrophilic groups that attract water and lipophilic groups that bind to fats and oils. By doing so, they break the separation between oil and water, allowing fats and oils to disperse uniformly throughout the feed system in extremely small particles. This process significantly increases the contact area between fats and oils and the digestive enzymes in the animal’s intestines, boosting fat utilization by 30% to 50%. As a result, issues such as diarrhea and feed wastage caused by insufficient fat absorption are greatly reduced. At the same time, feed emulsifiers improve palatability and pellet stability, preventing phenomena like oil leakage and caking during processing or storage. The typical addition rate ranges from 0.05% to 0.5% of the total feed weight; the specific dosage should be adjusted according to the fat content of the feed and the type of livestock or aquaculture species being raised. Moreover, high-quality feed emulsifiers can also synergistically enhance the absorption efficiency of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) in the feed, thereby promoting improved animal growth performance, reducing farming costs, and making them an essential additive for achieving “high-energy, low-consumption” feed formulations.
